Why choose us
Built from personal experience.
Run with genuine accountability.
After experiencing poor in-home care for our own loved ones, we were motivated to create a better alternative for area families. We believe every person should have access to highly skilled, dedicated, and compassionate care. That is exactly what we promise and consistently deliver.
Highest Medicare rating in the region
We consistently hold the highest Medicare star rating among home health and hospice providers in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties — not because we market it, but because our clinical outcomes earn it, year after year.
Zero-deficiency Medicare accreditation
Our most recent accreditation review resulted in zero deficiencies — the clinical equivalent of a perfect score. This reflects the standards our team holds themselves to every single day.
A standard we apply to our own families
Every hire passes an in-depth interview, background check, drug testing, reference checks, license verification, and more. But our real overarching standard: would we be comfortable with this person caring for our own family members? If not, they don't join our team.
Congressional recognition
We have been recognized by the United States Senate and Congress and received the Lompoc Valley Chamber of Commerce Small Business Excellence Award for outstanding service to our community.
Locally owned and invested
Pablo Martinez founded Superior in 2007 and still works alongside his team every day. We sponsor youth sports, participate in the Lompoc Rotary and Elks clubs, and support our neighbors because this is our community too.

Pablo Martinez
Founder & Owner
Pablo has been in the home care industry since 2007 and has a heart to serve Central Coast residents by providing expert in-home care. After starting sister company Superior Senior Home Care in 2007, he saw a need for more specialized care and Superior Home Health & Hospice was born. Pablo is not only the owner, but an integral part of the team — never hesitating to lend a hand to clients and staff alike. He also supports the community through coaching and sponsoring youth sports, the Lompoc Rotary, and local law enforcement.
Cassandra Pence, MSW
Hospice Administrator · Bereavement Coordinator · Social Worker
Cassandra developed her passion for hospice after caring for her own loved ones during their end-of-life journey. She started with Superior in 2019 as a social work intern, earned her master's degree in social work, and helped develop the Superior Hospice program. She played a key role in achieving Medicare accreditation with zero deficiencies.
Erin Sinnott, MPT
Rehabilitation Director & Administrator
Erin oversees Superior's rehabilitation services and wound care program. A Certified Wound Specialist since 2014 with the National Board Certified designation since 2019, she earned her Master's in Physical Therapy from Mount St. Mary's in 1994.
